Derived from Classsical Latin translatus, past participle of transferre, from trans- "across" + ferre "to bear"
Verb
to translate (translated, translated)
- To change (a book, document, Web site, movie, anime, or video game) from one language to another.
- To change from one form or medium to another, e.g. translate experience to film
- (physics) To subject a body to translation, i.e. to move a body on a linear path with no rotation.
